ASUS MAXIMUS VIII, Quality Motherboard, looks very stylish in the case and I have had no problems with it. I would recommend you download updates for the bios if your having any problems with new high speed ram. I bought G Skill 3400 but at first it would only run 2400mhz its now running at 3000mhz with new update and no problems, I hope soon for another update to run ram at full spec, all said and done very pleased.
After much studies I decided to go together with this motherboard and an i7 6700k with 16 GB GSkill DDR4 3200MhZ RAM. I have usually been an MSI fan however become swayed by means of rave reviews and alleged specs and benchmarks. Firstly the Skylake on Z170 revel in has been massively underwhelming specifically when trying to installation Windows 7 however that is not the fault of ASUS. However; while using the on-board snap shots I became unable to apply the better memory speeds and will only get a strong screen at default RAM speeds. The troubles in the main went away after putting in a separate GPU. I’m now not certain if it’s Windows 10 that I had to use (for now besides) or the ASUS motherboard however there are plenty of artefacts on booting up and the entire boot revel in does no longer appear clean. I’ve upgraded to the state-of-the-art BIOS and it's far nevertheless the identical. I’ve got a sneaky suspicion that the motherboard is at fault (I don’t suppose its faulty – just a piece rubbish) right here and my subsequent motherboard will clearly be an MSI.
