ASUS G74SX A1 DRIVERS FOR WINDOWS 10

ASUS G74SX DRIVERS laptops gaming and productivity tasks with relative ease. It lacks extensive ports and a killer design, but serious PC gamers who can't afford a boutique machine will like it. Enough with the pleasantries, let us take a closer look at the specifications of the reviewed device. Asus provided us with the ASUS G74SX DRIVERS, which is one of the most commonly sold model variants of the ASUS ROG G74 in Germany. With the exception of the reduced RAM capacity, and a few other small details, the notebook is identical to the previously reviewed US model ASUS G74SX-3DE.

ASUS G74SX A1 DESIGN

ASUS G74SX A1 DRIVERS FOR WINDOWS 10

ROG G74SX Some notebooks meant to appeal to serious PC gamers, like the Alienware M17X, are designed to impress and intimidate. ASUS G74SX Drivers is not quite one of those. It's more accurately described as a multimedia notebook, and it's relatively bland-looking. The chassis design is inspired by a U.S. Navy stealth vessel. It incorporates a few nicely beveled edges and a tapered front edge, but the matte-black finish is otherwise dull and lackluster. The only hint of flash is the polished-chrome Asus badge on the lid. A ROG (Republic Of Gamers) emblem is etched into the lid below the badge, but to our eyes, it's too subtle, easy to miss if you don’t look closely.

Simply put, ASUS G74SX is huge, measuring 16.5 inches wide and 2.5 inches high at its thickest point. That's at the rear, where two large air vents are located. The vents do an excellent job of keeping the system cool without emitting a lot of fan noise. The chassis tapers off to 1.25 inches thick at the front.

ASUS G74SX A1 FEATURES

ASUS ROG G74SX Beneath the lid is a beautiful 17.3-inch display with a 1,920x1,080 native resolution and a glossy anti-glare coating. The display is certainly more prone to distracting reflections than a matte-finish panel, but it delivers bright, vibrant colors with excellent saturation. Color quality and skin tones were ideal while viewing one of our test movies, The Big Lebowski, on Blu-ray, and image detail was excellent throughout. Viewing angles on this screen are wide, too; color and brightness did not degrade when we viewed the screen from the side.

Thus the atmospheric and enthralling Deus Ex: Human Revolution became quite slow (27.4 fps) with 1920x1080 pixels, high details, MLAA, 16x AF, and DirectX-11 activated. The successful racing game F1 2011 was also less than ideal (32 fps, recommended preset 'high') with 1920x1080 pixels, ultra high details, 4x AA, and DirectX11 activated.

  • Intel Core i7 Processor 2GHz
  • 12GB SO-DIMM RAM
  • 1.5TB 7200RPM Hard Drive
  • 17.3-Inch Screen, Nvidia GTX 560M
  • Windows 7 Home Premium
The Chiclet-style keyboard is big and comfortable. The large keys are responsive, and you can turn on a keyboard-backlight feature for nighttime gaming. The keyboard lighting isn't nearly as elaborate as the MSI GT780R's, though. The MSI machine offers several color choices and lighting zones, while the ASUS G74SX WINDOWS 10 DRIVERS has only white lighting in a single zone. (The MSI's keyboard is also designed by SteelSeries, and has a feel that's, at a minimum, equally premium-feeling.) If both of these machines are on your shortlist, we suggest trying both of these fine keyboards in person to see which has a tactile response you like better.

Altogether the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560M isn't always up to the task of providing a Full-HD resolution - 1600x900 pixels would be better suited for the graphics card. Those that don't have a problem with making compromises when it comes to quality enhancements settings or reducing the resolution should find satisfaction with the NVIDIA GTX 560M. Hardcore gamers should however not make due with anything less potent than a ATI Radeon HD 6990M or a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 580M.

ASUS G74SX A1 PERFORMANCE

The benchmarks all finished in line with our expectations. Apart from small deviations the results are similar to those of the previously tested ASUS G74SX WINDOWS 10 DRIVERS. Let's start with the processor. Thanks to six MBytes of L3 cache, four real and four virtual cores (Hyper-Threading) the Core i7-2630QM is able to deliver a good performance. The considerably successful dual-core Core i5-2410M (Schenker XMG A501) for example only manages to score 74% less in the multi-core rendering Cinebench R10 64-bit benchmark (17013 vs 9781 points).

For starters, the Asus G74SX-A1 produced a score of 8,364 on our PCMark Vantage benchmark test, which measures overall system performance. But keep in mind that these two machines both cost thousands of dollars more than the G74Sx-A1, and for the purposes of most everyday productivity apps, their super-high scores won't mean that you'll be able to work much faster.

ASUS G74SX-A1 17.3-Inch Gaming Laptop - Republic of Gamers On our processor-intensive Cinebench 10 benchmark, which taxes every available core while rendering a 3D model, the ASUS G74SX-A1 turned in an impressive score of 17,032, which was nearly identical to the MSI GT780R’s score (17,126) and more than 3,000 points higher than the average desktop-replacement notebook. By way of comparison, the asus g74sx windows 10 drivers (our current category leader) turned in a score of 27,594. If you use apps that are geared for multiple cores or you're a serious multitasker, you'll do well with the Asus machine. If your multitasking consists of extremely demanding parallel tasks (say, rendering video while playing a game on a regular basis), you'll want to step it up.
